Qld: Alleged armed robber to be extradited to Sydney

A man will be extradited from Queensland to New South Wales today .. accused of committing
a string of armed robberies in Sydney .. and firing shots at officers.

SOUBHI ARJA appeared briefly in the Brisbane Magistrates Court after his arrest on
the Gold Coast on the weekend.

It's alleged he committed a crime spree around Sydney's suburbs between March 7 and
8 .. robbing a hotel .. convenience store and service station.

Police allege ARJA fired shots at them during a chase .. until they were forced to
call off the pursuit.

He's been charged with several offences .. including armed robbery and aggravated robbery.

Two NSW police officers will escort him to Sydney today .. and he's expected to appear
in Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday.
